Jesper Hörnberg - Co-founder
Jesper Hörnberg, the co-founder of GIVEWATTS, is driven by a deep belief that the planet, with everything on it, is worth fixing. He is an entrepreneur, innovator, and advisor with a global footprint. He is the Lead on Innovation and Scaling at the Global Resilience Partnership at Stockholm Resilience Center, has been involved in several startups and businesses, and serves on a number of boards of companies and NGOs around the world. He is always searching for ideas and the right people to make them happen. Jesper has an MBA from IMD with Distinction in Leadership and a first-class BA from Westminster Business School. His passion is the subconscious processes that shape our world.
Petter Claesson - Co-founder
Petter Claesson, the co-founder of GIVEWATTS, wants a fossil-free future. His background is from the retail sector, where he held several international senior positions. Petter is working independently as a business consultant and investor for small, medium, and large retail companies. As a senior consultant and mentor, he worked with a number of resilience projects in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Petter has an MSc in Business Administration specialising in Marketing from Stockholm University. He is intrigued when business meets climate strategy, and when control meets creativity. Going outdoors to enjoy nature above and below the surface, and staying indoors with literature and jazz.
Mikael Blomqvist - Chairman
Mikael Blomqvist is an experienced finance professional with a history in industrial manufacturing, the process industry as well as the service sector. He has been holding senior roles in the food production industry as well as the paper and packaging industry. Mikael holds a Degree of Master of Science in business administration and economics from Stockholm University. His long engagement with Givewatts stems from his conviction that by eradicating energy poverty and helping students to achieve better results, we can improve the living conditions for people in rural Africa in a sustainable way.
Anna Albinsson -
Anna Albinsson is a goal-oriented & persistent elite athlete who gets goosebumps from team deliveries. Her professional strength lies in the borderland between leadership, sales, communication & profitable purpose. Today Anna is the International Chief Marketing Officer at Dun & Bradstreet, a leading global provider of data, analytics and data-driven solutions. But Anna also has a background working many years with renewable energy in Sweden. Her passion is to try to make the world a little better in everything that she does.
Ola Alterå - Swedish board
Mr. Ola Alterå is Chief Executive of the Swedish Climate Policy Council. That means his daily work is about evaluating if the overall policy of the Swedish government is in line with the goal to make Sweden a fossil-free country with no net emissions of greenhouse gases by 2045. Ola has had several senior positions in both government and private sector, among them State Secretary in the Ministry of Enterprise, Energy, and Communications. Part of his heart is always in Kenya since he served as a representative of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, UNIDO, to Kenya. Ola has an MSc degree in Engineering Physics, is a keen photographer, and likes cross country skiing.
Roken Cilgin - Swedish board
Roken Cilgin is a distinctive result-oriented personality with a strong commercial sense. She has memorable communicative leadership skills with the ability to create high-performing and engaged teams. With her strong entrepreneurial and inspirational personality, she has a well-documented track record in change management around the world. Roken is currently the Sales & Commercial Director at Adecco Group in Sweden. She has joined the GIVEWATTS board because she believes in changing the world through great ideas.
Virginia Günes -
Virginia Günes is a sustainability professional working for sustainable and responsible public procurement practices in one of Sweden’s regional councils. Her main purpose is to contribute to sustainable development through public contracts, especially in the supply chain. She lives by the philosophy that in order to change the world, you must start with yourself and recharges her batteries in nature and through yoga and meditation. She has an M.Sc. degree in Biology and several years of experience as an environmental and sustainability consultant.
Kevin M. Kyer -
Kevin is currently the Executive in Residence at Hatch CoLab, a foundation that helps entrepreneurs build companies to solve Humanity’s Grand Challenges. Kevin has spent his career in digital enterprises helping companies around the world to embrace digital transformation. He spent 10 years at Yahoo and has led or advised many startups since. He’s passionate about how technology can enrich lives regardless of sector. He started his journey with Givewatts in 2012 when we were just getting started and joined our board officially in in 2016. Kevin holds a bachelors degree in finance and masters degree in business administration. When he’s not supporting us or other enterprises for good, you can find him in the alps using gravity to have some fun with his family.
Christina Sironi-Windahl - Swiss board
Christina Sironi-Windahl is an Information Specialist, working at IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland. She's Country Manager for GIVEWATTS in Switzerland. Christina is Swedish and has traveled in many countries of the African continent, privately involved with local helping organisations that strive to make an impact on difficult life conditions and work for a better environment. She loves nature and is a big admirer of wild landscapes, from the deserts of Africa to the snow-covered forests of Sweden.
Bryan Guido Hassin - USA
Bryan Guido Hassin is a global entrepreneur and leader deeply committed to building a sustainable, prosperous, equitable energy future. As Cofounder and CEO of Third Derivative, a joint venture of Rocky Mountain Institute and New Energy Nexus, Bryan leads works to find, fund, hone, and massively scale the most promising technology solutions to the most pressing climate challenges around the world. Previously Bryan has founded and led eight climate tech startups around the world and advised or directed many more. Bryan earned his MBA with Honours and Leadership Distinction from IMD and degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from Rice University.
Leif Sjöblom - Swiss board
Leif Sjöblom is a Professor of Financial Management at IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland. He is actively involved in developing small scale entrepreneurship in sub-Saharan Africa. Professor Sjöblom is Finnish. He has a Ph.D. degree in Business (Stanford University) and degrees in electrical engineering (Helsinki) and law (London). He is also an avid hiker and amateur chef.
Joseph Odindo - COO
Joseph Odindo is the current Chief Operations Officer for Givewatts East Africa and is based in Nairobi, Kenya (HQ). Joseph is big on organisational leadership and mentorship. Has experience in last mile distribution in East Africa. He has a degree in Economics and statistics (University of Nairobi) Certified Public Accountant Part 2 (KASNEB). He enjoys sports such as football and running, and also to read non fiction and essays.
